Squid Game is back in the spotlight at international awards. This time, they were nominated at the Producers Guild Of America Awards or PGA Awards.
The Producers Guild Of America Awards announced the list of nominees for the year on January 27, 2022. Squid Game is the first non-English (non-English) series to be nominated at the awards ceremony.
Squid Game was nominated in the Best Episodic Drama category. They will compete with The Handmaid’s Tale, The Morning Show, Succession, and Yellowstone.
Previously, Squid Game was also the first non-English series to be nominated at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards. In the event, they will also compete with The Handmaid’s Tale, The Morning Show, Succession, and Yellowstone.
In 2021, Squid Game has bagged a number of trophies from international awards. Among them the Gotham Awards and took home the Breakthrough Series – Long Form trophy.
Squid Game also took home the Bingeworthy Show of the Year trophy from the People’s Choice Awards. In addition, Jung Jae Il won the Score – TV Show/Limited Series category for music on Squid Game at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards.
Squid Game is a Korean drama with a survival game theme that tells of 456 humans competing with each other for a prize money of 45.6 billion. They are even willing to lose their lives to participate in a dangerous game.
Squid Game stars a number of top South Korean actors such as Lee Jung Jae, Park Hee Soo, to Wi Ha Joon. The drama also introduces new actors such as Jung Ho Yeon and Anupam Tripathi.
Squid Game consists of nine episodes focusing on the story with a popular children’s game in South Korea. The drama can still be watched on Netflix.
