VIVA – Honda Team Asia racer Mario Suryo Aji completed his performance in the combined Moto2 and Moto3 pre-season test at the Algarve Circuit, Portimao, Portugal, 19-21 February 2022.
Mario Aji posted a best lap time of 1 minute 48.692 seconds from his performance on the second day of the Moto3 pre-season test.
Compared to the best time recorded by Moto3 runner-up last season, Dennis Foggia (Leopard), Mario Aji is still 1.702 seconds behind.
Pursuing the best lap time is not Mario Aji’s focus in his first pre-season test in Moto3. On the last day Mario was seen doing a race simulation with a consistent rhythm at intervals of 1 minute 49 seconds to 1 minute 50 seconds.
“I feel much better here at Portimao riding the bike than the previous test at Jerez. We tested a lot of different things on the bike, and in the end, it was worth it,” said Mario Aji quoted from mailchi.mp, Tuesday 22 February 2022.
“Even though the lap times were not what we expected, we worked with the feeling and the bike setting, not in the fastest laps now. I’m excited for the Qatar Grand Prix,” he said.
