Finish Filming John Wick Chapter 4, Donnie Yen Says Goodbye to Keanu Reeves

As we all know, one of the most anticipated action film sequels next year is John Wick Chapter 4 which is currently in the process of taking pictures. And one of the actors involved in this film is Donnie Yena martial master whose fighting skills are unquestionable.

Although currently filming is still ongoing, Donnie Yen has finished filming all the scenes involving him. And now using his Instagram account, he made an announcement saying:

“After four months away from my family, I’m finally home. It was fun and creative working with Keanu and Chad. I think you guys will really like this one. See you on the big screen.”

The video uploaded by Donnie Yen presents a warm behind-the-scenes atmosphere showing the bond that Yen and Keanu Reeves form on the set of the film with Reeves’ “amazing” personality shining all the way through. Included in the footage is Yen showing off some of the parting gifts left for the action star by Reeves and director Chad Stahelski. Yen ended his post by writing, “For me what is more valuable than this unique experience is that I have gained genuine friendship”.

John Wick Chapter 4 directed by director Chad Stahelski, who served as co-director on the first John Wick film with David Leitch before taking on solo directing duties for the next two sequels. The screenplay for the film was written by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch. Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, and Stahelski will produce with Reeves and Louise Rosner as executive producers. The project will reportedly begin production this summer in locations such as France, Germany, and Japan, with Berlin and Paris being the film’s main settings.

Ian McShane has been confirmed to reprise his role as Winston, while Laurence Fishburne is also rumored to be reprising his role as Bowery King. The new “comers” to this franchise are Shamier Anderson (Stowaway), Rina Sawayama and Bill Skarsgård as well as the martial arts duo Hiroyuki Sanada and Donnie Yen.

If it weren’t for the 2020 pandemic, fans might already be watching John Wick 4. The film was originally slated to be released on May 21, 2021, those plans were later changed and shooting was pushed back to this year, and now the sequel will hit theaters on May 27, 2022.
