VIVA – Chairman of the Indonesian Wushu Executive Board (PB WI), Airlangga Hartarto, did not stop fighting for the Wing Chun number to be competed in the XXI North Sumatra-Aceh 2024 PON. He asked for support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) and the Central Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI).
The request for support was conveyed by Airlangga to Menpora Zainudin Amali and the General Chair of the Central KONI, Marciano Norman during the opening ceremony of the VII Indonesian Wushu National Conference (Munas) which was held in Jakarta, yesterday.
“Wing Chun is part of PB WI. I hope for the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Central KONI to be able to enter the Wing Chun number to be competed in the North Sumatra-Aceh PON 2024,” said Airlangga.
Marciano Norman gave a positive response. Even in his welcoming speech at that time, he promised to encourage the Wing Chun number to be competed in the XXI North Sumatra-Aceh PON 2024.
Responding to Airlangga’s struggle, the Chairman of the Ario Academy of Martial Arts (ACMA) Jakarta, Ario Bondan Kejawan, expressed his appreciation and gratitude.
“As a Wing Chun community, my friends and I appreciate and thank Pak Airlangga Hartarto who has given attention and continues to fight for the Wing Chun number to be contested at the XXI North Sumatra-Aceh PON 2024,” he said.
