VIVA – Indonesia must lose one representative at the German Open 2022 which will be held on March 8-13 2022. That’s because Apriyani Rahayu suffered an injury.

PBSI actually prepared 7 representatives who will compete in the BWF World Tour Super 300 tournament. They are Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, Jonatan Christie, Shesar Hiren Rhustavito (men’s singles), Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto (men’s doubles), Rinov/Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari and Adnan Maulana/Mychelle Crhystine Bandaso (mixed doubles).

Another pair is Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti. Unfortunately, this new pair had to postpone their debut because Apri suffered a right calf injury.

This was conveyed directly by the head coach of women’s doubles Eng Hian on Wednesday, March 2, 2022. She did not want to take the risk of sending Apriyani to focus more on recovery and preparing for the All England 2022.

“Apri suffered a right calf injury a few weeks ago but his condition is now gradually improving and has returned to training while undergoing strengthening,” said the man who is familiarly called Didi in an official press statement received by PBSI. VIVA.

“I see that the standard for competing has not been reached based on the results of consultations with the medical team, it is better for Apri not to play in Germany first. Hopefully he will be ready at the All England later and debut with Fadia at the Swiss Open one week later,” explained he.

Apriyani this year will indeed play with two partners at once. With Greysia Polii in a major tournament before Greysia announced retirement. Meanwhile, Apriyani was also prepared with Fadia for the target of qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
