VIVA – The young boxer from Paksi Malang, East Java, Hero Tito, died on Thursday, March 3, 2022, after undergoing treatment after a match against James Mokoginta in Jakarta on February 27, 2022. Many parties expressed their condolences for the loss of the 36-year-old boxer, including the chairman of the DPD RI, La Nyalla Mattalitti.
“My deepest condolences for Hero Tito’s passing. The deceased was not only a boxing athlete proud of Malang and East Java, but also the pride of Indonesia. May all sins be forgiven, all acts of worship accepted, also get the best place by His side. I hope the family is sincere too, patient and steadfast,” said La Nyalla in a statement, Friday, March 4, 2022.
Hero Tito was active in the ring for 16 years. During that time, the boxer whose real name is Heru Purwanto has played 47 matches with 29 wins and 16 defeats. As a senator from East Java, La Nyalla is proud of what Hero has achieved in boxing.
“The deceased was a boxer who was full of talents, fighters and hard workers. Hero Tito’s achievements can be an example for young people,” said La Nyalla.
La Nyalla hopes that Hero’s departure will not discourage other talented young people in the boxing world. Instead, make it an encouragement to continue the Hero’s spirit so that later young boxers from East Java will emerge, especially Malang.
