One of Hollywood’s veteran action stars, Dolph Lundgren will reportedly soon star in a film project entitled Section Eightalong with Scott Adkins and Ryan Kwanten.
Section Eight will tell the story of an ex-soldier who is serving a prison sentence after he seeks revenge on those responsible for the murder of his family. When a mysterious government agent needs the soldier’s help, they get him out of prison and take him on a journey full of danger and mystery.
The project’s screenplay was written by Chad Law (The Hit List, Drive Hard) and Josh Ridgway (The Sector, Howlers), will be directed by Pay Dirt and Christian Sesma of The Night Crew and produced by Firebrand.
If Project is going to mark Ryan Kwanten (True Blood)’s first encounter with Dolph Lundgren and Scott Adkins (Boyka: Undisputed), then it won’t be the case for the latter two. Lundgren and Adkins will now be involved in a fifth project for their big screen appearance, after the two of them starred in The Expendables 2, Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning, Legendary, and the yet-to-be-released Castle Falls.
Lundgren recently directed, produced, and starred in the Christmas-themed comedy Pups Alone and Castle Falls and even getting ready to reprise his role as King Nereus in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Not only that, he recently confirmed that he will be returning for the fourth film Expendables. Adkins himself is no less busy this year, as the actor is currently filming John Wick: Chapter 4 and One Shot having recently completed Day Shift, a new Netflix film also starring Jamie Foxx. Looks like they’ve hired the busiest trio in Hollywood as even Kwanten herself has been involved in a lot of film projects lately. Kwanten’s newest catalog is as the main character in the series Crackle The Oath, Sacred Lies from Blumhouse Television, and FX’s drama series entitled Kindred.
Currently, there is no release date for Section Eightbut it looks like they’re about to start production on this project and maybe a release date will be announced soon.
