It’s only three months away until the premiere of Doctor Strange in the Multiple of Madness. Judging from what was just revealed through the second trailer released at the Super Bowl LVI 2022 event some time ago, which teased the presence of a veteran Marvel figure, it’s more or less reminiscent of big rumors regarding the storyline that will be put forward and who the old and new Marvel characters are. which will be present in this film. Doctor Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch)
As the main character in this film, of course, this character does not need to be listed here. However, as revealed in the first trailer, there are some interesting things. Apart from the well-known Strange, there will also be other Doctor Strange variants, one of which is “Dark” Supreme Strange which first appeared in the animated series Marvel’s What If…? Which should indicate that Strange might be up against his own evil version. It doesn’t stop there, there are also flashes showing Strange in Defenders costumes and Zombie Strange (What If…?). Wanda Maximoff AKA Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen)
The first big familiar MCU figure confirmed to be present is Wanda Maximoff, whose figure has been shown in the first trailer. Through the second trailer, Wanda’s actions are shown even more clearly. Rumors circulated that Wanda aka Scarlet Witch was actually the main antagonist, which seems to be seen from the trailer for the second Doctor Strange, indicating that the rumors could be true.
Wong (Benedict Wong)
After the Endgame, the figure of Wong appeared in Shang-Chi, when he became one of the stars in an illegal action event managed by Shang-Chi’s sister and then recruited Shang-Chi as the next Avenger member. Through Spider-Man: No Way Home it is known that he is now the status of the Sorcerer Supreme when Strange has been a victim of a five-year blip. With Strange’s return will Wong continue to serve as Supreme or will he return the position to Strange? So what’s he going to do knowing Strange doesn’t heed his advice and ends up getting into big trouble?
America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez)
A new Marvel character about to debut. In the comic saga, this character is said to have come from a reality called Utopian Parallel, and it is said that he has the ability to open dimensional portals to different realities. After the first trailer was only shown briefly, in the second trailer there is a snippet of action scenes when this new character fights with one of the other MCU characters, which is most likely Monica Rambeu or her variant. Christine Palmer (Rachel McAdams)
Christine is Strange’s colleague at the hospital where he worked and was also his love interest before he got into an accident and lived life as Doctor Strange the great wizard. In the latest Doctor Strange trailer, it’s shown that this character is going to marry someone, but there’s also an interesting detail: there’s footage showing the character played by McAdams wearing some kind of new uniform, indicating he could be transforming into the Night Nurse alter ego, as stated in the comic version.
Baron Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor)
Looking back a bit, at the end of the first Doctor Strange film, it is shown that Mordo turned his back on the magic arts after learning that the Ancient One absorbed energy from the dark dimension to prolong his life, and indicated that Mordo would be Strange’s opponent in the future. In the trailer for this second film, Mordo comes with his new appearance. Although it’s not clear how far his path will go, it’s highly likely that he’s on the opposite side of Strange.
Professor X Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart)
The first big surprise figure in the Doctor Strange 2 character parade from outside the MCU that was previously rumored to be present is Professor X. Strange 2, which was reportedly leaked, is said to be a member of the Illuminati from the Marvel alternative universe. The latest development, through the latest Doctor Strange 2 trailer, although still not very explicit, proves this rumor seems to be true.
Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris)
From the WandaVision series, it is rumored that Monica Rambeau will take part in the Doctor Strange 2 character parade. However, if you look at the trailer material, which shows a glimpse of her fighting with Wanda, it is very likely that the cameo version of Monica that is present is a variant, namely where she status as Captain Marvel from a different Marvel universe, although it is possible that it is the original Monica Rambeau.
