Looks like a spinoff project A Quiet Place had to find a new director because Jeff Nichols will no longer be in charge of directing the project. According to a recent report from Deadline, Nichols and Paramount split after the director decided to pivot and focus on other projects at Paramount instead. According to the report, they have proposed a replacement for Nichols and Paramount seems intent on finding a new director as soon as possible.
Despite Jeff Nichols’ departure from the franchise, this as-yet-untitled spinoff will be the first film in the series A Quiet Place directed by someone other than John Krasinski, the mastermind and director behind the success of the first two films. The spinoff is said to be based on Krasinski’s ideas, but until now not much is known about the project, other than the fact that the film’s story will center on characters other than the Abbott family.
With more potential stories in this franchise, either in the spinoff or in the third film and the entry of a new director who is quite interesting, the anticipation of the various sequels is definitely higher, especially for the third film which will definitely be more interesting.
As for the new spinoff, this is sure to tell a whole new story with a fresh creative vision and opens up the potential to expand the world into uncharted territory. The hope is that additional films will continue to challenge and push the story in new directions.
A Quiet Place The first proved to be a critically and financially successful film when it was released in 2018, with Krasinski crafting a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by a mysterious blind monster with a keen sense of hearing. And A Quiet Place Part II continues the story of the first film after the deadly events at the Abbott family home. They are now forced to face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. As the family is forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that creatures that hunt with sound aren’t the only threat lurking around them. The sequel stars Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe, Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou.
