VIVA – The Indonesian men’s team players faced fierce resistance from India in the final Group A match at the 2022 Badminton Asia Team Championships (BATC) at the Setia City Convention Center, Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia, on Friday 18 February 2022.
In the first party, the Indonesian men’s singles, Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo was forced to surrender by Lakshya Sen. Chico lost in two straight games with a score of 18-21 and 25-27.

However, Indonesia was able to reply in the second match. Indonesian men’s doubles, Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin successfully beat Manjit Singh Khwairakpam/Dingku Singh Konthoujam with a score of 21-16 and 21-10.
Indonesia turned ahead over India after winning the third match. Men’s singles Ikhsan Leonardo Imanuel Rumbay successfully beat Kiran George in a fierce three-game duel that ended with a score of 21-13, 17-21, and 21-10.
Indonesia also managed to ensure a place to the semifinals after winning the fourth match. Men’s doubles Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Bagas Maulana managed to finish off Hariharan Amsakarunan/Ruban Kumar Rethinasabapathi with a score of 21-10 and 21-10.
