Another actor from Indonesia will again be involved with a Hollywood film. According to a report from Collider, Yayan Ruhian will be the main character of the film Boy Kills World along with Bill Skarsgard and Samara Weaving. And the project, which will be produced by Sam Raimi, is described as an “action film set in a dystopian dream reality,” and they are now getting ready to shoot in South Africa.
Skarsgård is rumored to be playing the main protagonist named Boy, a deaf-mute with a vivid imagination, who flees into the forest after his family is murdered. Boy is then trained by a mysterious figure to become an “instrument of death.” Weaving will play an assassin, and Yayan Ruhian will play Boy’s mentor.
Boy Kills World will be set in a different dystopian world, combining real world themes with a stylish look that is fresh, cool and original. The film will combine wildly innovative action scenes, humor, and many other wild things.
German filmmaker Moritz Mohr caught Raimi’s attention with a detailed previsualization of the film’s cinematic approach, and will direct the project, from a script written by Arend Remmers and Tyler Burton Smith.
Bill Skarsgård himself is best known for playing Pennywise in two films It and stole the show in director Antonio Campos’ film, The Devil All the Time. He will also appear in the movie John Wick: Chapter 4. Samara Weaving herself began to get the attention of film fans when she appeared in two slasher films; The Babysitter and Ready or Nothe was recently seen in a movie Snake Eyes. Meanwhile, Yayan Ruhian caught the world’s attention when he appeared in The Raid. He also had a cameo appearance in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and fought Keanu Reeves in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.
