Chris Pratt and Anya Taylor-Joy to Enliven Super Mario Bros. Animated Film.

Nintendo has finally released new information about the upcoming Mario animated film, including a release date in the US as well as a cast list included in the project. Nintendo and Illumination have announced that the animated film Super Mario Bros. will air on the big screen right at the moment of next year’s Christmas holiday, which is on December 21, 2022.

The voice actors have also been revealed, and that includes some famous names, such as Chris Pratt and Charlie Day as Mario and Luigi and Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach. Additionally, a new poster showing the franchise’s iconic Question Mark Block has been released.

For more details, here are the names of the voice actors from this film; Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy) as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy (The Queen’s Gambit) as Peach, Charlie Day (It’s Alway Sunny in Philadelphia) as Luigi, Jack Black (Jumanji franchise) as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele) as Toad, Seth Rogen (Pineapple Express) as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen (Portland) as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson (Teen Titans) as Kamek, and Sebastian Maniscalco (The Irishman) as Foreman Spike.

The project was actually announced in 2018 and Illumination Studios will produce this animated film with the help of creator Shigeru Miyamoto. According to the CEO, Chris Meledandri, they will stick to the standard on which the game is based. Working with Miyamoto was definitely a smart move, but hopefully Illumination can also develop a strong story regardless of Miyamoto’s involvement.

Super Mario Bros. is a game developed and published by Nintendo in late 1985 for the Nintendo Entertainment System console. The game had a great influence on the development of the home entertainment world and is one of the best-selling games with sales of over 40 million copies to date. With a bright game setting and an evolving storyline, Super Mario Bros. successfully changed the face of the video game industry.

Super Mario Bros. Games. It was previously adapted as a feature film in 1993 with Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo in the lead roles. Unfortunately, the live-action film was less successful and was widely criticized, in part for its lack of similarities with the source material.
