VIVA – The Las Vegas Review Journal obtained police bodycam footage of the arrest of former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones in Las Vegas on September 24, 2021. In the footage, Jones is seen getting emotional and headbutting a police car
Jones was initially charged with a misdemeanor of domestic violence and injuring his partner. However, the domestic violence charge was later dropped. Jones escaped the charges.
However, apart from domestic violence, Jones was also charged with misdemeanor damage to property in connection with his head butting a police car during his arrest. And Jones did not appeal the charges.
Jones was then ordered to ‘stay out of trouble’ and pay $750 in damages. Not only that, he is required to get counseling for emotion management. Jones has long been known as an emotional figure.
In the 4-minute police bodycam videotape, Jones is seen arguing with the police while being handcuffed. Jones also briefly told them that he hated the police and vented his emotions by butting the hood of a police car.
Furthermore, this is not the first time Jones has done something wrong. Jones had previously been in trouble with the law after crashing his car into a power pole in 2012. This is the record of the police officers.
