VIVA – The Indonesian men’s badminton team finally conquered South Korea in the 2022 Badminton Asia Team Championships group A match.
Competing at the Setia City Convention Center, Selangor, Malaysia, the Garuda Muda troops silenced South Korea 3-2, Thursday 17 February 2022.
Indonesian men’s singles, Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo opened the scoring for Merah Putih. He won through a rubber game (21-18, 15-21 and 21-19) over Jeon Hyeok Jin.
South Korea retaliated in the second match. Yong Jin/Na Sung Seung humiliated Pramudya Kusuma Wardana/Yeremia Erich Yoche Yacob Rambitan in two straight games (21-10 and 21-19).
In the third match, South Korea took the lead. Jo Wan Kim crushed Ikhsan Leonardo Imanuel Rumbay two straight games (21-18 and 21-14).
Indonesia equalized, through the men’s doubles sector. Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin beat Jin Seong Noh/Dae IL Yoon in two straight games (21-13 and 21-13).
The last match, Christian Adinata finally locked Indonesia’s victory. He won through a rubber game (21-19, 11-21 and 21-17) over Min Sun Jeong.
