The couple had big smiles as they danced to the song “Let’s Stay Together” by Jennifer Hudson. “Happy Valentine’s Day, Michelle! With a smile that lights up the world, you are truly the one,” Obama wrote in the caption. “Today and forever, I am grateful to have you in my life.”

Meanwhile, Michelle Obama posted a photo of herself on Instagram, although her choice suggested a more relaxed moment between the couple who celebrated 29 years of marriage last year.

The lovebirds were spotted out playing in Hawaii, where they are keeping up the annual tradition of spending the holidays with their two grown daughters Malia, 23, and Sasha, 20.

“I feel so blessed to be able to spend every day with this man. Happy Valentine’s Day, Barack! Here’s to all the adventures we have ahead.”

While they have become accustomed to sharing their connection with the world in sweet photos and tender messages on birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays, the Obamas also try to be honest about the challenges of making a marriage last.

“We don’t have role models in hard times because our parents, their generation were taught not to talk about marriage and you definitely don’t talk about hard times,” Michelle Obama told People.

“So when you are young and come and raise a family together, nothing prepares you for the fact that there will be times when you will have to devote your energy to other things.

Despite the tough bits, Barack Obama made it clear that it was all worth it in a warning message he sent “Miche” on Instagram last October.

“Over the past 29 years, I have enjoyed seeing the world know you not only as a South Side daughter, but as my mother, lawyer, executive, writer, First Lady and best friend. I can’t imagine life without you,” she wrote.
