Ava DuVernay Introduces Naomi’s “Power” in New Trailer

A new teaser for Naomithe upcoming superhero drama series, has just been released, with a special message from the showrunner of the series, Ava DuVernay. Naomi is based on the DC comic book series of the same name, written by Brian Michael Bendis and David F. Walker and illustrated by Jamal Campbell. The series, which tells the exciting story of a fun-loving teenager who learns that he is a superhero, will premiere on the CW on January 11, 2022.

In the opening message, DuVernay portrays the main character of the series as if he were one of his friends, explaining that the girl is obsessed with Superman and that it is a fact. As footage from the trailer begins, viewers are given a glimpse into the life of trendy skateboarder Naomi, who one day experiences a strange supernatural event in her town. After that strange incident, Naomi begins to realize that she is not like other people, and she then meets several people who are gifted with powers from another world, just like her.

The series will follow the story of the main character named Naomi, played by Kaci Walfall, a girl who is always curious and begins to question whether superheroes are real and she finally finds out more than she expected. Throughout the series, Naomi will navigate her previous relationships with her best friend and adoptive parents as well as with the new characters that enter her life, all the while facing major changes that will plunge her deep into the multiverse.

Join Wallfall in this adventure series Naomi is Alexander Wraith (Agents of SHIELD) as Dee, Cranston Johnson (Euphoria) as Zumbado, and newcomer Camila Moreno as Lourdes. Meanwhile, the pilot episode of the series is being directed by Amanda Marsalis (The Umbrella Academy). Naomi also features Brian Brightman, Camila Moreno, Barry Watson, Mouzam Makkar, Mary-Charles Jones, Will Meyers, Daniel Puig, and Aidan Gemme.

For your information, Naomi, is a comic book series that began publishing in 2019 from writers Brian Michael Bendis and David F.Walker and drawing artist Jamal Campbell. The story follows the adventures of an American teenage girl who happens to be plunged into a multiverse full of superheroes after an event. But when he investigates the origins of this multiverse, he begins to learn more about these heroes, he discovers that they may not be what they seem.
