Asphalt Repair of Mandalika Circuit Completed, MotoGP Ready to Hold

VIVA – The Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) has successfully completed asphalt repairs at the Mandalika Circuit. In fact, SOE Minister Erick Thohir immediately jumped in to see firsthand the condition of the circuit, Friday, March 11, 2022.

Erick, accompanied by the Governor of NTB, Zulkieflimansyah, entered the circuit to check the condition of the asphalt, which was completely repaired according to the target for completion on March 10.

The Governor of NTB, Zulkieflimansyah said that the Mandalika Circuit was ready to hold the Indonesian MotoGP next week.

“Alhamdulillah, the asphalt repairs have been completed and God willing, we are ready for the MotoGP race next week,” he said.

Previously, a number of drivers including Dorna Sports requested that the circuit track be repaired. Responding to the request, ITDC immediately made repairs.

Not only repairs, the circuit track is also regularly cleaned to avoid the presence of sand and dust material on the track that can interfere with the running of the race.
