Former star X-Men Anna Paquin (True Blood) and Ray Winstone (Black Widow) will reportedly star in the project A Bit of Light, which will be directed by Stephen Moyer. FYI Moyer, is an actor who is best known as the vampire Bill Compton in the series True Blood which also stars Paquin. This film will be his second project as a director after previously making his directorial debut at The Parting Glass (which also stars Paquin).

Apart from Paquin and Winstone, A Bit of Light will also be supported by Youssef Kerkour (Home) and Pippa Bennett-Warner (Gangs of London). As for the project itself, Moyer says:

“From the moment I started reading A Bit of Light, I knew I wanted it to be my second film. This is an amazing piece of writing by my old friend Rebecca Callard whom I first met 25 years ago and played opposite each other as actors. We’ve put together an absolutely amazing cast led by the amazing Anna and Ray together. I can’t wait to get into editing”

Written by Rebecca Callard, and based on her own stage play, this film follows the journey of Ella (Paquin) who is recovering from alcohol addiction and currently living with her father, Alan (Winstone). Ella has been forced to temporarily give up custody of her two young daughters. And now they now live with Ella’s ex-husband, Joseph (Kerkour), and his new partner, Bethan (Bennet-Warner). Living in this scary new world, Ella befriends an unlikely person – a teenage boy played by Luca Hogan. With the help and support of this young man, Ella begins to put the pieces of her life back together.
