There are two anime that caught attention at the 2022 Japanese Film Festival Online, namely Time of EVE & Patema Inverted. Both of them is the work of Yashiro Yoshiura , the maker of anime films such as Mizu no Kotoba ,Kikumana .

Here is the synopsis

In Japan in the future, using android for various purposes is not uncommon. Treating androids on the same level as humans, however, is extremely unwelcome and there is constant paranoia around the possibility of robots opposing humans, their masters.

Those who seem overly trusting in their androids are scorned and labeled “dori-kei,” or “android-holics.”

High school student Rikuo Sakisaka watches as her house droid, Sammy, starts acting strangely—he has left the house without her instructions. When he checked the movement logs in his database, a faint line caught his eye: “Are you enjoying your EVE time?”

Accompanied by his friend Masakazu Masaki, Rikuo traces the whereabouts of his houseroid to a cafe called Time of Eve, where customers are prohibited from showing prejudice against one another. The cafe, Rikuo realized, was frequented by both humans and machines, with no evidence to distinguish the two. Every customer—from the cheerful Akiko, to the robot that is on the verge of collapse—has its own story and challenges to overcome.

As Rikuo tries to uncover Sammy’s intentions, he begins to question the legitimacy of the fear that drives humans to view androids as nothing more than tools.

In this anime, there is one song that stands out, making the audience get carried away with the storyline

Here is a synopsis Inverted Patema

Patema is a brave young girl from an underground civilization who possesses an extraordinary network of tunnels. Inspired by a friend who went missing mysteriously, he is often reprimanded for constantly visiting these tunnels because of his royal status. After he enters what is known as the “forbidden zone”, he accidentally falls into a giant bottomless pit after being startled by a strange creature.

Finding himself on the surface, a world completely turned upside down, he begins to fall into the sky only to be saved by Age, a disgruntled student from the totalitarian nation known as Aiga.

The people of Aiga were taught to believe that the “Inverters,” like Patema, were sinners who would be “swallowed up by the heavens,” but Age has rejected this propaganda and decided to protect his new friend. A chance encounter between two curious teenagers leads to the exploration of two unique worlds as they begin to work together to uncover the secrets of their origins in Sakasama no Patema, a heartwarming film about overcoming differences to coexist.

The songs that stand out are as follows:
