VIVA – Stefano Pioli doesn’t want to brag about AC Milan’s scudetto chances even though his foster children have just taken over the top of the Serie A standings after defeating one of their competitors, Napoli, Sunday 6 March 2022.
Milan won 1-0 over Napoli thanks to Olivier Giroud’s only goal at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium. An additional three points make AC Milan rise to the top of the standings while displacing Inter Milan.
“We can’t just dream, we have to keep working hard. If we want to achieve our goals, we have to work very hard,” Pioli said in a video interview after the match on Milan’s official website, Monday 7 March 2022.
“We have to prove we can raise the level of the game in the next games, playing with care, determination and quality, everything needed to win in Serie A matches.”
Pioli even hinted that the most important impact for his team from this victory was the success of strengthening their position in the competition to finish in the top four, which was AC Milan’s initial target this season.
After the match, Pioli and his foster children were seen celebrating with Milan supporters who were present at Napoli’s headquarters. According to Pioli, it was appropriate to do so because of the importance of this victory.
