VIVA – The women’s badminton players from Indonesia appeared more comfortable when they defeated Kazakhstan in the second match of the preliminary Group Z Badminton Asia Team Championships 2022. This 5-0 victory also led the Garuda Muda Squad to qualify for the semifinals after yesterday’s 4-1 win over Hong Kong.

In the match which was held on Wednesday morning, February 16 at the Setia City Convention Center, Selangor, Malaysia, in the women’s singles, Indonesia fielded a different line-up from the previous match against Hong Kong. Gregoria Mariska Tunjung and Stephanie Widjaja are saved.

As substitutes, those who performed were Putri Kusuma Wardani, Bilqis Prasista, and Saifi Rizka Nurhidayah. Even though Bilqis and Saifi were playing for the first time, they also performed well.

“Facing Kazakhstan, we fielded different players. This is with the hope that all players can feel the atmosphere of the match. In general, the performances of the players who performed today were also good and could bring out the best in their abilities,” said the women’s singles coach, Herli Djaenudin, as stated in PBSI’s written statement. .

The trio of single players who appeared, Putri KW, Bilqis, and Saifi not only succeeded in winning. They can also play more comfortably and are able to bring out their best abilities.

“I played better today. I am more comfortable and not tense like yesterday against Hong Kong,” said Putri KW, who overcame Aisha Zhumabek with a score of 21-8, 21-7.

Meanwhile Bilqis managed to beat Kamila Smagulova, 21-4, 21-6, and Saifi who appeared in the third party, without difficulty defeating Nargiza Rakhmetullayeva, 21-4, 21-8.
