VIVA – PT Indonesia Tourism Development or Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) is speeding up the construction of supporting facilities for the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit after the end of the entire series of 2022 MotoGP pre-season tests, Sunday, February 13, 2022.
Director of Operations and Business of PT ITDC Arie Prasetyo, in a written statement received, said that there are several work on supporting facilities around the circuit that still need to be completed, such as the Mandalika Circuit ring road from the Songgong roundabout to the Mandalika gas station.
ITDC also still has to complete the construction of audience seats or grandstands with a total capacity of 50 thousand seats and the VIP Village with a capacity of 2,000 spectators. Arie said all the work is targeted to be completed in the second week of March.
In addition to the grandstand, the organizing committee also still has work to do to complete the Royal Box facility, which is in the same building as the paddock or garage for the racers and their teams.
This facility is the most expensive spectator seat sold by ITDC at the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia which will be held on March 18-20.
The plan is that the Mandalika MotoGP will be opened to a capacity of 63,000 people per day.
“So the three days will be very busy, be it the flow of traffic or the flow of travel. There will be around 180 thousand-200 thousand viewers in those three days,” said Arie.
