TRIBUNNEWS.COM – Ukraine said Russian troops on Saturday (12/3/2022) had killed seven civilians.

Victims of the attack included women and children trying to flee fighting near Kyiv.

While France says Russian President Vladimir Putin has shown he is not ready to make peace, as quoted from CNA.

With the Russian invasion in its third week, Ukraine’s intelligence services said seven, including one child, were killed as they fled the village of Peremoha and that “the invaders forced the remnants of the troops to return”.

Ukrainian officials later said the convoy was not traveling along the “green corridor” agreed with Russia when it was attacked on Friday, correcting their earlier statement that it was on the designated route.

Russia has denied targeting civilians since it invaded Ukraine on February 24.

Moscow blames Ukraine for failed attempts to evacuate civilians from besieged cities, a charge Ukraine and its Western allies vehemently deny.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Moscow sent new troops after Ukrainian troops put Russia’s 31 tactical battalion groups out of action, causing Russia’s biggest troop loss in decades.

“We still have to hold on. We still have to fight,” Zelensky said in a video speech Saturday night, his second day.

He said earlier that about 1,300 Ukrainian soldiers had been killed so far and urged the West to be more involved in peace negotiations.
