TRIBUNNEWS.COM, KYIV – A total of seven civilians, including a woman and a child, were killed while trying to flee the Kyiv region of Ukraine.
This was confirmed by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, on Saturday (12/3/2022) local time.
“Russia shot at rows of women and children in the Kyiv region, who tried to evacuate along the previously agreed ‘green’ corridor.”
“As a result of this brutal act, seven people died. One of them was a child,” the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense tweeted.
According to CNN, a recent report from Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence said civilians fled via routes that were not the agreed “green corridor”.
A group of women and children were trying to evacuate near the village of Peremoga in Kyiv on Friday (11/3/2022) when they were shot by Russia, according to Ukrainian intelligence services.
Russia did not immediately comment on the incident, but has denied targeting civilians since it invaded Ukraine last month.
