OPPO’s performance in 2021 can be said to be very good, especially since this brand can dominate the market share at the top in the 3rd quarter of 2021 which was confirmed directly by two large firms IDC and Counterpoint. According to the two reports, OPPO has a market share of over 22%.
OPPO is said to dominate the smartphone device market with a price range of US$100 – US$300. In addition, according to data compiled internally, it turns out that the A95 device contributes to OPPO’s market share in Indonesia by 30%, a fairly large number for a smartphone device that is sold at a price of almost Rp. 4 million.
Various kinds of collaborations such as embracing game developers, inviting local MSMEs to sponsorship in the AFF Suzuki Cup 2020 grand event are indicated to be the cause of the high response of Indonesian consumers to the OPPO A95.
“The various achievements in 2021 prove how our strategy is getting better and better in getting to know the smartphone market in Indonesia. Going forward, in 2022 we will make 5G the basis for developing strategies in Indonesia,” said Aryo Meidianto A, PR Manager of OPPO Indonesia.
Aryo added that 5G development was also continuously encouraged by the government to telecommunications operators in the country. The seriousness of this can be seen from the support of several international-scale events such as the 2022 MotoGP and the G20 Summit which will be proof of the 5G network in Indonesia.
In 2022, OPPO’s strategy especially on products will focus more on 5G. Moreover, OPPO is the pioneer of video calling with the first 5G network in Indonesia. In 2022, there will be many interesting 5G devices to be presented, of course, with new technology that makes it accessible to all circles of society.
The presence of various latest chipsets with 5G technology makes the 5G market competition even higher which brings advantages for smartphone manufacturers to make the price of 5G devices more affordable. The development of the 5G network will also increase the consumption of Internet of Things (IoT) devices on the community side.
“In the first quarter of 2022, we have prepared several 5G and IoT devices that will launch in Indonesia, as well as in the second quarter. More or less the production of 5G devices will consume a larger portion compared to the previous year,” added Aryo.
No less important, Aryo emphasized that OPPO will provide 5G devices that are suitable for the network used in Indonesia. This means that it can automatically be used on a 5G network if you use a registered 5G card and are on a 5G network with operators who have commercialized this service.
In addition, next year, OPPO aims to be able to win the hearts of Indonesian consumers again by getting closer through service to consumers both through sales services and after-sales services in a more professional manner.
OPPO will also initiate all those involved in its ecosystem, including dealers and frontliners, in utilizing digital services for product education to consumers. Several awards won in 2021 will become the foundation for OPPO in Indonesia to increase consumer loyalty again.
Although OPPO is not affected by the shortage of chipsets, OPPO remains committed to ensuring product availability. In addition, OPPO also promises to make it easy for consumers to get OPPO products through offline and online networks.
“In 2022, consumers will be at the center of OPPO’s development. In addition, the latest technologies and innovations will also continue to be explored more deeply by OPPO with the aim of bringing goodness to all human beings in the world,” concluded Aryo.
