VIVA – The Bekasi Regency Government, West Java, awarded two silat athletes who won the Southeast Asia (SEA) Pencak Silat Championship 2022 medals at the OCBC Arena Singapore, February 25-27.

The gold medal winner in the 70-76 kilogram senior match female category, Rahmawati, received a coaching fee of Rp. 50 million, while Asep Yuldan Sani, who won silver in the senior artistic male single number, received Rp. 35 million.

“Highest appreciation to our athletes who have fought for the name of Indonesia at the international level. Thank you for the struggles and achievements achieved,” said Bekasi Regency Secretary Dedy Supriyadi after giving the award at the Digital Museum Juang Tambun Building, Saturday, March 5, 2022.

He advised the two silat athletes not to be complacent with their current achievements and continue to train consistently in order to be able to achieve even higher achievements.

“Hopefully our two fighters can be an example for other athletes, especially those who are struggling to achieve achievements. Because actually there are already several Bekasi Regency athletes who are able to excel at the international level,” he added.

The regional government, he continued, will continue to strive to improve sports performance through the cooperation of all stakeholders so that sports development can be in line with achievements which are indicators of success.
